A private sobriety community for solving the self-sabotage loop.
Build a meaningful life you no longer want to escape from.
Whether you want to stop drinking and using, or are already sober yet feeling stuck and uninspired, this is an ecosystem that restores your bond with the natural world and fosters a deep connection to the Sacred.
The world might label you an addict; we see an escape artist.

The Sacred Sobriety Community is an educational support system built around self-guided structure.
We do not offer medical care, therapy, detox, rehab, or emergency support, and we are not a replacement for licensed professional help.
Solve the Self-Sabotage Loop
Most setbacks do not begin with one dramatic decision. They begin in private, when stress rises, isolation grows, and the bargaining voice starts whispering:
“Just one will be okay.”
“I’ll reset tomorrow.”
“No one will know.”
That voice is persuasive because it promises immediate relief.
How the Loop Operates:
-
Trigger: Daily stress, emotional fatigue, or quiet isolation builds.
-
Bargaining: The internal voice promises quick relief (“Just for tonight”).
-
Escape: Short-term relief via the substance or pattern.
-
Remorse & Reset: Shame sets in, willpower breaks, and the loop resets.
This ecosystem helps you strengthen the conditions around Step 1, understand what the bargaining voice is trying to provide in Step 2, and interrupt the loop before it becomes Step 3.
What feels like self-sabotage is often obsolete protection.
The part of you bargaining for escape is not necessarily broken or trying to destroy your life. It learned that drinking, using, checking out, or numbing yourself could provide something fast: relief, rest, confidence, connection, rebellion, quiet, or temporary freedom from pain.
The problem is that an old protection strategy can become biologically and behaviorally reinforced long after it stopped serving you.
Sacred Sobriety helps you recognize the loop earlier, understand what the escape is trying to do for you, interrupt the destructive behavior, and strengthen better ways to meet the underlying need.
Don’t merely reduce the symptom. Expand the human being until the symptom no longer has the same job.
Recovery Should Be an Ecosystem, Not a Tactic
Your Sacred Sobriety membership brings the pieces together:
Honest Community
A private place to check in, tell the truth, share progress, and stay connected to people who understand the road.
Structured Training
Five Training Grounds focused on daily stability, emotional patterns, shadow work, self-worth, relationships, and future direction.
Your First 30 Plan
A personalized action plan built around your real schedule, environment, pressure points, relationships, and values.
Sober Presence
Private 24/7 guidance through our custom GPT for ChatGPT.
Think of a GPT as a specialized version of ChatGPT built for one specific job. Sober Presence is built specifically for sober support, including cravings, stress, spirals, panic, anger, bargaining, and the difficult hours when people are unavailable. Open it inside ChatGPT and start talking; easy as that.
Special Access to Chris
Weekly founder participation, a monthly live group Q&A, and opportunities to help shape what gets built next.
Your Base Camp
Show up. Stay connected. Build momentum. No need to run anymore. We got you. Think of this as your quiet sanctuary off the trail; a private place to set down the heavy pack, tell the truth before a rough day becomes a full spiral, and recalibrate your direction.
Inside Sacred Sobriety, you have a private place to tell the truth before a rough day becomes a full spiral. Check in, share what is working, name what is not, and stay visible to people who understand the road.
That rhythm helps you:
- Interrupt isolation before it festers
- Bring shame into daylight, where it loses power
- Create accountability without punishment
- Recognize dangerous patterns earlier
- Give another member permission to be honest
The community is hosted on a private platform, completely separate from Facebook. Your activity does not appear in your public feed or get shown to friends, family, or coworkers.
Most importantly, it’s a place to make a plan and receive the support that helps you follow it.
You are seen and valued here.
You do not have to carry the weight alone.
This is better than maintenance. This is transformation.
Keep What Helps.
Build What’s Missing.
AA has saved lives and still offers something valuable: people who understand the struggle and will save you a seat. If meetings, a sponsor, the Steps, or a day count help you stay grounded, keep them. They are welcome here.
We understand there are many paths to sobriety. There are also different interpretations of what sobriety means. Some members choose complete abstinence. Others make a clear commitment around the substance or self-sabotaging pattern that is damaging their peace, health, relationships, purpose, or self-respect.
You define the commitment. You also take responsibility for honoring it honestly. Flexibility is not permission to bargain with yourself. Freedom without truth is just another hiding place.
We do not treat one setback as proof that all progress is gone. We examine what happened, repair what needs repair, strengthen the part of the ecosystem that failed, and keep building.
Is Sacred Sobriety for You?
Sacred Sobriety may be a good fit if:
- You are drinking or using more than you want and are tired of negotiating with yourself
- You are already sober but still feel restless, disconnected, or stuck
- You recognize a self-sabotage pattern that keeps resurfacing in different forms
- You want structure and accountability without humiliation, rigid dogma, or a one-size-fits-all identity
- You believe recovery should build abundance with humility
- You long for a deeper connection to nature and a spirituality that feels real rather than peformative
- You are willing to participate honestly and take the next right step
You don’t need a catastrophe, and you don’t need a label like ‘alcoholic’ to want your life back. Waiting for ‘rock bottom’ is a myth.
If something is repeatedly taking more from your life than it gives, you are allowed to change it before catastrophe forces the issue.
Your First 7 Days
You do not need to understand every pattern or rebuild your entire life during the first week. You only need to begin honestly and use the ecosystem one step at a time.
Day 1: Define Your Commitment
Decide what sober living means for you, name the pattern you are changing, and clarify why protecting this decision matters.
Days 2–3: Build Your First 30 Plan
Turn your commitment into a practical plan shaped around your schedule, environment, relationships, pressure points, spiritual life, and values.
Days 4–5: Enter Your First Training Ground
Begin where the pressure is strongest: daily rhythm, younger emotional patterns, shadow work, relationship repair, or future direction.
Days 6–7: Test Both Layers of Support
Make an honest community check-in, then open the Sober Presence GPT inside ChatGPT and work through a real question, craving, difficult emotion, or decision.
By the end of your trial, you will have defined your commitment, created a 30-day map, begun your first Training Ground, and tested both human and personal AI-guided support.
Throughout all seven days: spend at least ten minutes outside without your phone or headphones, and make one deliberate point of contact with the Sacred each day through prayer, meditation, gratitude, silence, or anything that connects you to the Mystery behind the veil.

Five Ways to Thrive
Five Training Grounds. One Integrated Transformation.
Recovery rarely holds because someone discovered one perfect tactic. It holds when the conditions surrounding the person begin working together.
The five Sacred Sobriety Training Grounds address five high-impact areas of sober living: rhythm, depth, the hidden self, virtue, and direction. Each could stand alone as a substantial course. Together, they form a complete recovery ecosystem built for lasting transformation.
There is no required order. Begin with the Training Ground that speaks most honestly to what needs your attention now.
1. Build Daily Stability
DYNAMICpeace: Rhythms
Learn to regulate your inner weather through repeatable daily rhythms: sleep, movement, nourishing food, stillness, purposeful action, contact with the natural world, and the next right step. The goal is not perfect discipline. It is building a life your nervous system can increasingly trust.
Target Pattern: Interrupts impulse-driven stress spirals and emotional burnout.
2. Heal Old Emotional Patterns
HIGHERchild: Depth
Recognize the younger emotional patterns behind abandonment fear, people-pleasing, craving, and emotional shutdown. Strengthen the wiser self that can respond instead of react.
Target Pattern: Breaks people-pleasing, abandonment fear, and reactive soothing.
3. Understand the Pattern Beneath the Urge to Escape.
SHADOWlove: Hidden Self
Explore the part of you that reaches for escape and discover the job it has been trying to perform. Relief? Numbing? Confidence? Rebellion? Rest? Connection? Freedom from shame? Instead of hating that part, bring it into the light, understand the protection it once offered, and teach it better ways to get what it actually needs.
Target Pattern: Turns unconscious self-sabotage into something you can understand, interrupt, and eventually outgrow.
4. Repair Self-Respect and Relationships
KINDrise: Virtue
Practice kindness, forgiveness, honest apologies, meaningful amends, and changed behavior that people can actually trust.
Target Pattern: Heals the shame-and-secrecy loop by repairing self-respect.
5. Build a Future Worth Protecting
FUTUREcraft: Direction
Clarify what you are building and create a future compelling enough to compete with escape. Then move beyond personal fulfillment into contribution: who or what becomes better because you became fully present for your life?
Target Pattern: Replaces the urge to escape with a future compelling enough to protect.
Three Practices Run Through Everything
- Sacred Contact: Prayer, meditation, gratitude, silence, surrender, or any practice that connects you to the dimension of Mystery.
- Natural-World Contact: Regular time outside without turning it into another task. Walk. Sit. Notice. Listen. Relearn how to be present in the physical world.
- Love and Laughter: Do things that connect you with those vibrations of consciousness. Science shows massive measurable benefits, including healing.
You do not have to use our language or adopt someone else’s theology. The point is direct contact, not perfect beliefs.
The Ecosystem Will Keep Growing
These five Training Grounds are the foundation, not the finish line. Additional courses, protocols, and guided practices will be added over time as the community grows. Charter Members receive them as part of their membership, with no separate course fees.

Sober Presence
24/7 Support for When the Rest of the World Is Asleep
If you have never used a GPT before, the idea is simple: ChatGPT is the platform. A GPT is a specialized version of ChatGPT that has been configured for a particular purpose.
Sober Presence opens inside ChatGPT already equipped with the Sacred Sobriety framework, recovery protocols, guide personalities, safety rules, and tools for the moments when your thinking starts turning against you.
There is nothing to install.
Prefer Gemini, Claude, or Grok? Your membership also includes the Sober Presence Master Script so you can bring the system into those platforms. For the simplest experience, we recommend using the Sober Presence GPT inside ChatGPT.
It helps you slow down a difficult moment, understand what is happening beneath the surface, and identify your next right action. Use it during cravings, stress spirals, anger, isolation, emotional overwhelm, or the late-night bargaining voice.
Sober Presence can guide you through reset protocols, help you recognize repeating patterns, and support the commitment established in your First 30 Plan.
It does not replace a human relationship, therapist, sponsor, crisis line, or emergency service. It provides a practical layer of personal guidance between human conversations.
The goal is not to keep you talking to AI.
Once the immediate moment has settled, Sober Presence is designed to help lead you back into your body, your surroundings, another human being, the natural world, the Sacred, and the next responsible action. The technology is a bridge back to life, not a replacement for it.
From the Founder
Chris Willitts. Founder and Fellow Traveler.
I built Sacred Sobriety because I know what it is like to make real progress, lose ground, and have to rebuild without giving up on yourself. Over more than two decades, I have lived, studied, practiced, failed, and returned to the work of recovery, self-worth, shadow, and the Sacred.
I studied Consciousness Studies and Psychology at the University of Michigan and have spent years exploring the Sacred, teaching meditation, and developing spiritual fitness.
I am not here to be your guru or police your recovery. My role is to stay close to the community, notice what members need, offer practical guidance, and keep improving this ecosystem alongside the people using it.
My Biggest Takeaway
The Escapist inside of you isn’t the enemy. It is an old protector using a strategy that became destructive. Recovery means understanding it, taking away its destructive method, strengthening the capacities it was compensating for, reconnecting what became disconnected, and giving the person something larger to live for.
Don’t isolate. Integrate.
The Founder Is in the Room
Charter Members Get a Seat at the Inner Circle
Sacred Sobriety is being built as a living community, not a content library where the founder disappears after checkout.
Each week, I’ll be present inside the community through an Ask Chris discussion, selected responses to member questions and check-ins, voice notes, and practical guidance.
Once a month, we’ll meet live for a group Q&A where you can bring your questions directly to me.
You will also help shape what Sacred Sobriety becomes. Your experience and feedback will influence future courses, protocols, tools, and community features.
This is meaningful group access, not private coaching, instant messaging, or emergency support. But you will know that I am present, paying attention, and building this alongside you.

Frequently Asked Questions
The questions people ask before they join, answered without the sales voice.
Is this AA, therapy, or rehab?
No, no, and no. And we are not fighting with any of them.
Sacred Sobriety is a structured educational support system and personal growth ecosystem. We don’t do 12-step sponsor dynamics, we don’t do clinical therapy, and we don’t do medical detox.
A personal note from me: I have been on both sides of the fence, so I know AA isn’t for everyone. I built this place for the people it never quite fit. I also have friends in AA who are members here, working both at once. You will never be asked to choose.
If a therapist, a meeting, or a doctor is helping you, keep them. We are not a replacement for professional care. We are the daily structure around your whole life, so everything else you do works better.
The goal here is bigger than avoiding a substance. It is becoming more capable of staying present with life, carrying discomfort without automatically escaping it, and building a life you need less escape from.
Do I have to be religious or Christian?
No. You have to be honest, and open to the existence of something deeper happening behind the scenes.
Some of our members pray. Some meditate. Some stand on a beach or in the deep woods, feel something bigger than themselves, and don’t need to name it yet. All of it counts here.
You will never be asked to check your intellect at the door or fake a belief system. You will be asked to look at your shadow honestly and engage with the Sacred on your own terms. In short: you will be asked to seek.
Will the outside world know I’m a member? Do I have privacy?
The community is hosted on a private, members-only platform separate from Facebook and other social media. Nothing you post inside appears on a public feed or is shown to friends, family, or coworkers.
What if my drinking isn’t “bad enough” for something like this?
“Bad enough” is a trap. It keeps capable people waiting decades for a rock bottom they never needed to hit, tolerating a fraction of the life available to them.
The sharper question: is the escape costing me more than it gives me? Sleep, mornings, focus, relationships, self-respect. If that math is quietly broken and you know it, that is enough.
You do not need a catastrophe, and you do not need to call yourself an “alcoholic” to want your life back. You are allowed to change early. Early is the strong move.
Is this only about alcohol?
No. Alcohol is just the most common door into the same room.
Escape wears a hundred masks: drinking, drugs, food, screens, sex, overwork, anger. Different masks, same basic move underneath: reaching for fast relief from something we have not yet learned how to carry, meet, or change.
We train the pattern underneath, not just the substance in the glass. Build a life you genuinely respect, and every one of those doors loses its pull.
Is this for men, women, or both?
Both. Men and women build here side by side.
The entry requirements are identical for everyone: honesty, and a willingness to seek. If you are done escaping and ready to build, there is a seat at this fire for you.
Can I buy this for someone I love?
Yes, and it happens more than you might think.
To be clear about who this room is for: the membership is built for the person doing the work. If you love someone in this fight, you carry real weight of your own, and we honor that. But this particular room is theirs.
One honest note from experience: this works when they want it. A membership someone did not ask for can land as pressure, and pressure feeds the exact shame we are trying to starve. Show them this page, let them say yes for themselves, then write to us at sacredsobriety@proton.me and we will help you set up the gift cleanly.
What happens if I slip?
You will not be shamed, and you will not be cast out.
We do not treat a single setback as a reset to zero, and we do not worship day counts. You are not a streak on a calendar. A slip is information: it shows exactly where the structure was thin, what you were avoiding, and what the bargaining voice was promising you.
We also ask what the part reaching for escape was trying to provide or protect you from. That information helps us strengthen the right part of your recovery ecosystem instead of simply demanding more willpower next time.
We look at that information honestly, adjust your habits, and keep building. No public shame session. No starting over from scratch in front of a room.
How much time does this take?
Far less than the escape was stealing from you.
Most members spend 15 to 30 focused minutes a day: one protocol, one short lesson, or one honest check-in. Everything is self-paced. There is no falling behind here, only beginning again. If life gets loud for a week, the community holds and nothing expires.
And for the hard hours, Sober Presence is awake at 2 AM when the rest of the world is not.
Do I need a paid AI account to use Sober Presence?
No. Sober Presence is a custom GPT that opens directly inside ChatGPT, and you do not need a paid ChatGPT plan just to use it.
Paid ChatGPT plans generally provide higher usage limits, so frequent users may prefer one, but it is not required to get started.
Your Sacred Sobriety membership gives you access to Sober Presence. Open the member link, sign into ChatGPT, and start talking.
Prefer Gemini, Claude, or Grok? We also include the Sober Presence Master Script so you can use the same recovery system on those platforms.
How Does the Trial Work, and How Do I Cancel?
Your first seven days are free. A payment method is required when you register, but you will not be charged when you join.
If Sacred Sobriety is not right for you, cancel from your account settings before the trial ends and you will pay nothing.
If you remain a member, your first $47 payment will be processed on Day 8. After that, your membership renews monthly until you cancel.
Canceling takes only a few clicks. No phone call, exit interview, guilt trip, or long-term contract.
Because the full seven-day trial gives you time to explore the community before being charged, payments made after the trial are generally nonrefundable.
You read this far for a reason.
Nobody reads an entire web page about self-sabotage and sober living by accident. Something in you is already done with escape and ready to build.
You don’t have to be certain. You just have to be honest, and willing to take the next right step with people who understand the road.
