The Sacred 13

A Jungian-Inspired Path to Sobriety

Embrace Your Shadow, Find Your Light

Here’s the basic framework I use personally. Feel free to adapt or modify it in any way that works for you. Tools like plant medicine are advanced and are not included.

5 Bold Moves

These are the foundational boulders that hold the structure of long-term sobriety:

  1. Friendship & Fellowship – Connection is oxygen for the soul; isolation is oxygen for addiction. Find a herd of sober souls and get in the middle. Get rid of the energy vampires.
  2. Get Strong – A strong, healthy body makes a night and day difference for moving forward and your day-to-day mood.
  3. Find Your Purpose – Your North-Star vision magnetizes meaning and momentum. This will be your lighthouse in the storms of life.
  4. Integrate Your Shadow – Feel the feelings, speak the unspeakable, welcome the dark to discover your hidden gifts. Embrace your shadow to find your light.
  5. Hero’s Journey – You are the producer of the movie of your life. Make recovery bold and mythic; weave your life into a story worth retelling.

5 Daily Rituals

By practicing good habits over time we develop routines that make our day-to-day more fulfilling and effortless. We also create something I call “smart feet,” which ultimately keeps us safe and strong:

  1. Practice Presence – Meditation, contemplative prayer, or breath-awareness.
  2. Move the Energy – Exercise, lift heavy things, do breath-work, dance in the kitchen or long walks to circulate life-force.
  3. Earth Connection – Daily nature bathing; return to the planet’s healing electromagnetic heartbeat (it’s science). Don’t forget, WE ARE nature.
  4. Creative Self-Expression – Journal, paint, build, dance—give voice to the inner myth.
  5. Joy & Laughter – Play is prayer. Elevate frequency; celebrate small wins.

3 Timeless Truths

Accelerate your progress with these psychic shifts:

  1. Fastest way to change your life, change who your companions are.
  2. Lean into discomfort now to be more comfortable in life later.
  3. Pursue fulfillment and alignment, not fleeting pleasure or forced happiness. Happiness will come naturally—without pressure, not as a demand, but as a gift.
