Sacred Solution 5 (SS5)

An Integrative Five-Stage Alcohol-Recovery Protocol

(nature-based, ancestral wisdom, consciousness science, shadow work, purpose-driven, mindfulness, and life-force enhancement)

Prelude — Why This Approach Is Different

This recovery path isn’t intended for someone who’s been drinking heavily every day for years or who requires medical detox. Instead, it’s tailored specifically for those coming off a gnarly relapse or intense binge—those feeling rattled, disappointed, and perhaps spiritually disoriented, but not in need of hospitalization or advanced medical intervention. If you’re navigating a dark stretch and seek to regain your footing without shame or judgment—this protocol is for you.

“With 20 years in recovery, I’ve learned traditional methods often miss the deeper roots of addiction. The disease model remains dominant—partly because it’s easier to bill, regulate, and prescribe for—but it often overlooks the deeper, soul-level dimensions of recovery. My approach combines ancestral wisdom with modern science, addressing self-sabotage and addiction as a spiritual crisis. We explore meditation, shadow work (subconscious awareness), inner child healing, and soul restoration moving beyond mere abstinence to reconnect with the Sacred.”
– Chris, Founder of Sacred Sobriety

Three Principles That Guide This Path:

  1. Never give up—even when the road feels impossible.
  2. Seek spiritual connection—trust something greater guides you.
  3. Ask for help—borrow others’ light to navigate darkness.

Five Key Tenets (the philosophy):

  1. Addiction is a spiritual emergency disguised as a behavioral crisis.
  2. Addiction is a symbol, not merely a symptom.
  3. The true craving is for wholeness, authenticity, and soul.
  4. The substance is a surrogate for spiritual initiation.
  5. Healing requires symbolic death and rebirth; the journey is mythic.

Five Sacred Pillars (long-term structure):

  1. Stay Close to Your God/Source
  2. Find Fellowship—herd of sober souls (at least 2-3 people)
  3. Aim High—pursue exciting, purpose-driven goals that help others
  4. Integrate Your Shadow—feel, speak, welcome the dark to find light
  5. Turbocharge Your Body—strength, sleep, whole nutrition, resilience

Five Daily Rituals (life-force activators):

  1. Pray & Meditate—3 min presence on a loved one
  2. Move Your Body—exercise, breath-work, dance, long walks
  3. Nature Bathing—sunshine, fresh air, barefoot grounding, sit under a tree
  4. Creative Expression—design, write, paint, build, muse, play, create
  5. Start Laughing—watch something funny; laughter = high-frequency energy

PHASE 1 (Day 1)

Preparation, Safety & Sacred Intention

  1. Schedule a doctor visit (preferably an addiction-trained clinician) for general screening and liver check-up.
  2. Ask about non-narcotic anxiety and sleep support (Hydroxyzine, Trazodone).

Core Supplementation (Non-negotiable):

  1. Thiamine (Vitamin B1): 200 mg, 3x/day
  2. Complete B-Complex supplement
  3. Magnesium Glycinate: 400 mg nightly
  4. Glycine: 3,000 mg nightly
  5. Omega-3 EPA & DHA Fish Oil: 1200 mg daily
  6. NAC: 600 mg, 2x/day
  7. Milk Thistle: 300 mg daily
  8. Zinc, Vitamin C, Folate daily
  9. Organic Turmeric (for inflammation)
  10. Methyl B-12: 1000 mcg & Methyl Folate 400 mcg + P-5-P (cellular energy)

Gut Health Essentials:

  1. Probiotics: 50 Billion CFU daily
  2. Whole Psyllium Husks (prebiotics)
  3. Organic Aloe Juice (inner filet)

Avoid:

  1. Non-organic coffee (high pesticide levels)
  2. Ibuprofen (damages gut health)

Preparation Actions:

  1. Log all food and drink intake for 3–5 days.
  2. Identify triggers and sober substitutes (tea, walks, calling a friend).
  3. Perform a Sacred Intention Ritual—write/speak aloud intentions for strength, hope, gratitude; use candles/incense.
  4. Morning mindfulness sit (5–10 mins); record three gratitudes daily.

PHASE 2 (Days 1–10)

Gentle Withdrawal & Restorative Care

  1. Hydrate continuously (water, coconut water, broth, sugar-free electrolytes).
  2. Frequent nutrient-dense snacks (smoothies, soups, avocados, bone broth).
  3. Rest shamelessly; treat yourself gently, like recovering from flu.
  4. Daily warm Epsom-salt baths; practice 4-7-8 breathing for anxiety relief.
  5. Surround yourself with calming music, nature sounds/videos, audiobooks.
  6. Daily check-ins with a support person or listen to online recovery meetings.
  7. Walk in the neighborhood/outside and get some fresh air and sunshine.
  8. Simple prayer/mantra: “I pray for guidance and strength.”

PHASE 3 (First 90 Days)

Early Sobriety & Stabilization

  1. Understand PAWS (Post-Acute Withdrawal Syndrome)—expect anxiety waves, fatigue, brain fog as natural healing signs.
  2. Guard against HALT (Hungry, Angry, Lonely, Tired).
  3. Maintain Four Pillars daily: nutrition, supplements, movement, sleep hygiene, mindfulness.
  4. Optional: Weekly therapy and at least two peer support meetings (AA, SMART, Refuge, LifeRing). In-person is best, but online meetings work too.
  5. Journaling for Shadow Work: “What resentment, guilt, or shame still hides in my shadow? What hidden gift might be there?”
  6. Service-oriented contribution (do 3 selfless acts daily – keep track).
  7. Walk in the neighborhood/outside and get some fresh air and sunshine.
  8. Nightly journal: mood, energy, gratitude, selfless acts, lessons learned.

PHASE 4 (Months 3–12)

Strengthening Purpose & Healing

  1. Reframe PAWS episodes positively—as signs of brain healing.
  2. Increase physical activity (jogging, cycling, gym classes); incorporate sauna or cold showers.
  3. Deepen spiritual practices (extended meditation, nature retreats, spiritual reading).
  4. Pursue creative growth activities (design, music, art, writing, create).
  5. Selfless acts and giving/volunteering becomes easier and habituated.
  6. Develop a strategy for social events—non-alcoholic drink options, comfortable exit strategies.
  7. Gradually taper supplements based on sleep quality, energy levels.
  8. Walk in the neighborhood/outside and get some fresh air and sunshine.
  9. Monthly self-check: “What am I doing daily in my recovery? Who did I help this month?”
  10. Advanced: Look into plant-medicine healing with professional guidance after 6 months of continuous sobriety.

PHASE 5 (This Lifetime)

Lifelong Growth & Contribution

  1. Identity shift: See yourself as a thriving, purpose-driven individual.
  2. Continuous learning (books, courses, mentorship).
  3. Regular contribution (support newcomers, volunteering, creating value).
  4. Annual sobriety ritual: reread goodbye letter, update vision statement, celebrate milestones.
  5. Maintain Daily Five Rituals consistently.
  6. Have a contingency plan for emotional spikes—reach out, mindfulness, journaling, extra meetings.

Ritualized Closure

Ending the Relationship with Alcohol

  1. Write a goodbye letter to alcohol; thank it, declare why you’re moving on; burn or bury the letter.
  2. Conduct a small ceremony (candles/incense), speaking your intention aloud.
  3. Physical cleansing (discard all alcohol, refresh your living space, add symbols of renewal).
  4. Celebrate your courage quietly or with loved ones.

Emotional Contingency Plan

  1. Immediately reach out if cravings surge or isolation sets in.
  2. Practice mindfulness, breathing exercises, and journaling during cravings.
  3. Remember all crises are temporary, powerful growth opportunities.

FINAL WORD

Fulfillment through Growth & Giving

Real sobriety is not just alcohol-free living—it’s embracing ongoing inner fulfillment. Fulfillment thrives when we continuously grow and give generously, reflecting life’s universal law: everything evolves or withers. Ensure each day offers growth and meaningful contribution. When your soul thrives on purpose, returning to darkness becomes unthinkable.
